"BEAUTIFUL SCRIMSHAW ART WORK A ON MICARTA HANDLE"
Engraving is the oldest stylistic means of artistic metaphorical language. Already more than 10,000 years old, in the art of the Early Stone Age, man made engravings in stone and bone. Their abstract expression is still convincing. Based on this, the modern Scrimshaw Artist leaves the principle of ornamentation and comes back to the source of creative styling.
Each knife is individually created, engraved and hand colored by the scrimshander. The Scrimshaw Artist combines the technique of engraving and painting and thus creates self-contained pieces of art, the so-called Coloured Scrimshaw. Hundreds of hours are devoted to this art expression.
In this beautiful "Puma" scrimshaw, Arno Hopp demonstrates his vast knowledge of impressionism, expression, cubism and other styles.
